Lokoja varsity commences ICT consultancy services

LOKOJA—Federal University Lokoja, FUL, said it has commenced consultancy services in Information and Communication Technology, ICT.

Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Freeman Miri, revealed this yesterday during a press briefing to mark the 2nd convocation ceremony of the institution slated for the university’s permanent site this Saturday.

The V.C also said the citadel of knowledge will next year, commence its post-graduate degree courses.

Prof. Miri said the school, through its consultancy services, would offer certificate and diploma programmes, ranging from three to six months.

“Certificate programmes to be offered in this regard includes Certificate in Desktop publishing, Word processing, Data Processing, Web/Graphic Design; Diploma in Data Processing and Diploma in Hardware maintenance.

“The University shall, again, run a – one – year Remedial Program designed for students especially in the sciences who may wish to further their education but who are deficient in their O’ level science subjects, and would afford those students who meet up the requirements into 100 level in the university,” she said.

The VC also revealed that the school would run a 3-month proficiency Diploma in teaching language and literature; communication skills, Journalism and Drama and Film production.

She said the Post Graduate School would commence with Art and Social Sciences and Faculty of Science, beginning from the 2018/2019 academic session as Dean of the Faculties had already been inaugurated, following the Senate’s approval.

She, however, said the university is making frantic efforts to complete its perimeter fencing at the permanent site so as to effects their movement to the site.
